미디어오늘 부설 넥스트리터러시 연구소는, 디지털 사회의 다양한 가능성과 과제를 시민 사회와 수용자의 관점에서 모색하는 연구 조직입니다. 디지털 정보 환경이 일상화한 현대 사회에서, 디지털 기술을 적절하게 활용하는 능력과 소양에 대한 사회적 관심은 어느 때보다도 높습니다. 디지털 정보 환경의 사회적 영향력과 창의적인 가능성을 성찰하고 실천하는 것이야말로, 앞으로 다가올 사회 구성원이 가져야 할 비판적, 창조적인 능력과 소양의 핵심인 넥스트 리터러시라고 믿습니다.

NXR은 교육자, 연구자, 다양한 분야의 사회 활동가들에게 시의적절하고 활용가능한 방식으로 고급 지식 정보를 전달하는 것을 중요한 목표로 삼습니다. 저널리즘 현장의 최전선에서 활약하는 미디어오늘 편집국과의 협업을 통해, 디지털 사회와 관련한 다양한 최신 사례를 제시하고, 폭넓게 토론하는 사회적 계기를 만들겠습니다. 많은 관심과 피드백을 부탁합니다.

Next Literacy Review (NXR) is a bimonthly online journal published by the Research Institute for Next Literacy (IRXL), an affiliated research organization of Media Today.

The core of digital media literacy lies in the critical understanding of digital technology, which empowers digital engagement and sound social changes. RIXL explores diverse possibilities and challenges of digital media literacy from the viewpoint of civil society, bringing together researchers across disciplines, practitioners from diverse fields, and citizens.

Through a collaboration with the editorial bureau of Media Today, a forefront of South Korean journalism, we present perspectives, questions, and the latest cases relating to digital media and social changes, and raise conversations and debates across views. We welcome new perspectives and ideas.
